Loustic Catering Caters Ferrari Club event
Ferraris filled the parking lot next to the banquet room at Salem Premier on the 27th of June. Our on-site caterer, Loustic Catering was the host for the Ferrari Club get together at our resort. Lots of exciting, fun events are taking place at all our resorts. This is one of the most unusual and was great fun for our guests as the cars arrived.
The tractors are moving earth and electricity is being installed for a new secure overflow parking area at Salem Premier RV Resort. A fenced area with key code gate is being installed at Salem to accommodate boats and trailers, extra RV’s, Snow mobiles, and infrequently used cars. The area being developed is in a secure and high traffic area of the resort and will accommodate about 30 vehicles. The area will be fenced with security fencing and have security lighting on all night. Entrance will be by pass code only through a secure gate. It will be a place you can rent for your RV between RV trips, for boats and trailers and extra cars or tow vehicles. Rentals will be monthly and the customer will have a designated spot for their vehicle. Call 503-364-7714 to reserve a spot.
Eclectic Salem-Off the Beaten Path Ideas
Remember One flew over the Cuckoo’s Nest? It was filmed at the Oregon State Mental hospital, part of which now contains the Oregon State Hospital Museum of Mental Health. This museum features antique hospital furniture, Rorschack inkblots and stories of the filming site. The museum is open Tue, Fri and Sat noon to 4PM.
The Reed Opera House, formerly a theatre is now a great collection of small shops, (can you say Gelato?), great eateries all under one roof of the repurposed building. Find Kilts, books, and pastries here.
Not far from Premier RV Resort is the Willamette Valley Cheese Company where you can taste dill Havarti or Chipotle Chedder. This is a family owned and operated artisan dairy and well worth a visit.
Wineries from the elegant Willamette Valley Vineyards to the Bethel Hills Winery have tasting rooms where you will find some of the best wines in the country. Within 10 miles of Premier RV Resort you will find over 20 wineries. Some have small deli’s so you can plan to have lunch on premise. Firesteed is located just north of Rickreall off Hwy 99W. The winery has a nice tasting room and is known for its quality wine. Plan to come for a wine tasting get away and go to their vineyard along with many more in the area.
There are lots of reasons to visit the Oregon Coast. A new one may be to see the outstanding landscaping at Lincoln City Premier. Terry, our manager, has some sensational gardeners who really take the extra care of the plantings. Even if you can't stay with us you may want to come in and see the landscape! The flowers will be great until late September, so come and enjoy the view (both the ocean and the flowers).
Our customers have told us too often about the frustration of using the Wi Fi system in Salem provided by Tengo Internet. And we have listened! Salem Premier has a brand new Wi-Fi system provided by Check Box. Two new 40MB DSL Lines provide a much improved band width to handle the increased usage that has resulted from more of our guests carrying multiple devices with them.
The system has been up and running for about a week and our technicians are fine tuning the system. We have installed 7 repeater antennas to assure coverage throughout the resort. With the additional band width our customers are finding that they can get on line and stay on line. This post is being written on my computer using the Wi Fi in Salem and it is fast and reliable. Thank you Check Box and thank you Century Link for helping us with this huge upgrade. Especially thank you to our guests for bringing this issue to our attention and being patient as we installed the new equipment and data lines.
Free Wi-Fi has been a tradition at every Premier RV Resort. We want our guests to be able to get their emails, do their financial transactions and surf the net for information and news. We are not able to allow our guests to stream TV programs or download movies. That type of use simply consumes too much band width. Even with our new DSL lines if 8 or 10 guests are simultaneously downloading a movie there would be no band width left. So we ask that our guests refrain from downloading movies or streaming games or streaming TV programs. The new Check Box system monitors each user and if download usage is excessive it will slow down the download for that guest so that other guests can have normal speed on their devices.
